Lift up Your Eyes from the Natural to the Divine
Your natural abilities alone are no match for the power and abilities of Satan in this world. Christ has called upon us to “destroy the works of Satan.” We are to “overcome evil with good” and “bear the image of Christ to the world”! To stop Satan in his works and to deliver the lost to Christ requires: Colossians 1:27 …Christ in you, the hope of glory. God has created, gifted, and fashioned us to become His body and voice in this world. His truth and voice alone are the message of “salvation for all of mankind.” How awesome and perfect are His love and provision for us!!
God gifts us with everything needed to overcome all of our enemies. Do you know that the children of God can experience the presence of God in their lives? He imparts to us His wisdom and the plans He has designed for us. Yes, it is true that He “walks with us, and He talks with us and He tells us we are His own!” You will find God as you seek Him with all your heart, mind, will, and spirit.
No human relationship can begin to meet every human need as God, our creator, meets our needs and gives us “life” through His Son. We are not only secure in Him now, but our relationship is eternal. Dear ones, I speak from a living knowledge that has been well-tried and tested! God has taken me through fiery tribulation and destructions, but He never allowed Satan to lay a hand upon me. I have had Satan speak to me, as he did to Christ, and offer me the riches of this world if I would serve him. Satan has only the powers of utter destruction of the soul of man, and if allowed by us, eternal separation from God.
I have walked with God over seventy adult years and I can tell the world that “Jesus never fails!” As the song says, “oh for a thousand tongues to tell of my redeemer’s love…!” One of my favorite scriptures is: 2 Timothy 1:12 …” I know (HIM) whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” The greatest step man can take is to make room in his life for the only, God appointed savior of the world, Jesus Christ!! If you have not given your life to Him, give it to Him now. The ability to live an “overcoming and abundant life” begins and ends in Christ alone!! He is the only firm foundation on which to build your life, and none of the storms of life can destroy that foundation! Neither can anyone pluck you out of Christ’s hand. “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:28-29).
When your works and the things you hope for are based on divine faith in Christ, you can enroll yourself in the eternal works of God. You pray: “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!” If you pray that scripture only as a passing thought, “not based on a deep desire or a firm belief,” how can you spread the great work of Christ’s salvation across the whole earth? Faith is the substance that produces miracles! Faith, belief, and hope in God are the earthly substance of divine and supernatural works on earth. He knows when your prayer is heartfelt or just a habit! Empty words produce only wind! “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
“All things” are possible with God; that includes natural and supernatural! In yourself alone, only the natural is in the realm of possibility. Look around you: sin is as evil as it ever has been, and the only difference is that as man and time multiply and increase so does “sin”! Are you aware that only someone “good and filled with God” can bring down the works of Satan and stand against corruption and evil? Are you, as children of God, taking the assignment seriously? IT IS THROUGH FAITH IN GOD THAT YOU SUBDUE KINGDOMS, WORK RIGHTEOUSNESS, OBTAIN PROMISES, AND STOP THE MOUTHS OF LIONS. (Taken from Hebrews 11:33.)
Hear the call of Christ today as His Spirit draws you to Him! “SINCE WE ARE SURROUNDED BY SO GREAT A CLOUD OF WITNESSES, LET US LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT, AND THE SIN WHICH SO EASILY ENSNARES US, AND LET US RUN WITH ENDURANCE THE RACE THAT (GOD) HAS SET BEFORE US! (Taken from Hebrews 12:1) As children of God, we must stop worshipping the idols of this world and fix our eyes upon Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father. Only when we have done that, can God’s work begin in earnest, and only on that day will we “throw away our idols of silver and gold” and cease from our own work. When our eyes and our hearts are fixed on God, then we will accomplish His works and His will. “For in that day every man shall throw away his idols of silver and his idols of gold — sin, which your own hands have made for yourselves” (Isaiah 31:7).
Most of mankind realize that the speed of time and events seem to have increased, and man is hurtling toward the end of this age. After the church age ends, with the catching away of the body of believers in Christ, a time of great tribulation begins. Only those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will escape to the security in Christ. Whosoever will, may come to Jesus Christ, confess their sins, and become a child of the only true and living God! Only those dwelling under the shadow of the Almighty will be safe. (Read Psalm 91.)
This is the hour when God is calling forth His children to do His end-time works. The time is short and what we will do for Him and His kingdom must be done now!! No one in His kingdom is exempt from His call for He is not willing that any should perish. We are called to be the children of God and carry out His kingdom work. “ For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence” (1 Corinthians 1:26-29).
GOD’S PRAYER FOR US IS THAT WE STAND IN THE POWER AND MIGHT OF THE LORD OUR GOD. PAUL SAID, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).
Let us pray: You are an awesome God, and I want You and Your beloved Son as Lord of my life for now and all eternity! Train me and make me exactly what You have called me to be. I thank You, dear Jesus, for taking over my life and making me over in Your image. Teach me the things of God that I need to fully understand. I want to walk with You and acknowledge You in all of my ways. Thank You for indwelling me and helping me to become everything You have called me to be. I want to honor both You and my heavenly Father with my entire being. Make me an effective worker in Your vineyard. Daily increase my love and dedication to You and Your work. Amen.
