January 5, 2007 – I WILL DO MY PART IF YOU WILL DO YOURS!

Perhaps your present spiritual battles are like an extremely painful tooth ache that will not go away. Maybe you’ve even reached a point where you do not want anything to touch the “ache,” much less have someone talk about it, because it is too painful. Keep in mind that God cannot touch that which we declare untouchable or that which we consider “off limits.”  If we pray, but do not play the part God requires of us, (to face evil and use our authority against it), we negate God’s power to answer our prayers. If the battle requires us to fight or take a stand against unrighteousness and we say, “we can’t,” then, the only victor is satan.

The painless and perfect way out is to begin to allow God to totally “touch, take, or break” anything that requires removal from our lives so everything can work “together for good.” If we want victory, then we will be forced to take on satan and loose his hold on our life. We have a part to play through intercessory prayer and by taking authority over evil. The good news is that if we do our part, God will bring us miracles and will fight on our behalf.

If you take the following steps daily, your battle will turn into a wonderful experience with God and you will even find joy.

  1. Submit yourself anew to God and release Him to transform your life and circumstances.  Let Him renew your mind, will, and spirit. Allow God to transform your thinking and attitude toward your problems and the victories you need.  Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  2. Dedicate yourself to “acknowledging God” for every blessing. Acknowledge Him in every step you take. This attitude must be an hour-by-hour walk with Christ. When you acknowledge Him in all things, overcoming power, strength, and Godly wisdom will come from His person and presence.  You must be willing to face each problem and choose victory. Take your stand for God in all things. Claim your home, your business, your work, and everything in your life for the glory of God.  Satan wants us to “be overcome” with our problems and to think running from them is our answer.  Christ wants us to “stand for Him and His glorious kingdom.” God says: Isaiah 14:24 Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand: Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
  3. Delight yourself in God continuously. Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 94:19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

My prayer:  O Lord, your ordained will for each of your children is an overflowing and abundant life. Restore the years that the cankerworm has eaten. Joel 2:25  “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you. Make your children strong in the might and power of the Lord. Give them each a clear spiritual mind and eyes to see what is keeping them from your abundance. Help them to recognize the things in their lives that need to be changed and give them a heart and a purpose for living that glorifies you.  Put within them to “will and to do” of your good pleasure and the courage to “stake their claim on your promises.” Strengthen them to stand and resist satan, and claim their inheritance in you. (The battle is the Lord’s, but trusting, believing, and resisting satanic forces and all evil is the responsibility of each child of God.)

For the sake of all righteousness, resist all fear, all hopelessness, all lethargy, all weakness, and any temptation to escape from the battle. Pray for God’s grace and strength to enfold you and make you someone who overcomes in life for Jesus Christ. 1Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
