WHICH WAY SHALL I GO?

The way you choose to go is all important! It is a matter of life or death! Of equal importance to those of us who are following God’s path is the amount of ourselves we commit to “God’s way.” Are you following God’s way with your whole heart, mind, soul, and spirit, or have you only given “half” or a “part” of your being? The amount of righteousness you receive depends on how much of yourself you yield to God. Luke 6:38  “Give (ALL OF YOUR HEART), and (RIGHTEOUSNESS) will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Don’t put yourself on meager rations from God by keeping a large or even a small part of yourself from the Most High.  Surrender “all” and be fully committed to the most high God, and you will receive His fullness of blessings and provisions for your life. If there is a part of yourself that you have not given fully to God, then to whom have you given it?  Romans 6:16  Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?  Romans 6:21  What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

Before we were formed in our mother’s womb, God prepared a way for each of us to spend all of eternity with Him. Satan, on the other hand, has chosen another path for those who forsake God’s way. Christ leads us to the perfection of the present, future, and eternal plans His Father has designed for us. His direction makes it possible for us to experience God’s highest and best usuage for our lives, God-given talents, and abilities. The more we use His gifts to glorify His name, the more blessings and gifts we receive. His goal is that we use our lives to glorify Him and lift up His name so that others will come to know Him. Psalms 139:8-10 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.

God has given us the power of choice over which direction we want to take our lives.  Jesus (our source of God-given-life) says: Matthew 7:13  “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  14  “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. The Message Bible interprets this same passage as: “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easy-going formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time.  Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.”

Christ indwells us so we have His spirit and the spirit of His Father within us to show us the way to a successful and abundant life in God’s sight. Through faith in His promises and seeking His fellowship, we can have a personal experience with God, walk and talk with Him. John 10:3  “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”  John 10:16  “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”  John 10:26-27  “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

Our every need is supplied in Christ Jesus. We are taught, led, and perfected in the “way” we should go. He tells us to “ask” and we receive from our Father every good and perfect gift and blessing.  God’s children are blessed above all people on the earth, and whosoever will, may come and belong to the Father through Christ His son.  John 14:6  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

We are led by the spirit of God until we reach the goals God has set before us and we have completed our earthly tasks. In order to carry out His plans, God puts within us to will and to do of His good pleasure!  His plans far exceed any plans we could make for ourselves. God’s plans are always for our “good.” His highest and best gifts are ours if we remain faithful to Him and His plans for us.  James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

We can never out-guess or out-plan God!  We are the most blessed of His creation because He has given us the privilege of walking in the majesty of His presence, wisdom, and understanding. He came to give us an overflowing abundance of life and all that pertains to life and Godliness. COL 3:1-3  If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

When we place our life in God’s hands, we are under His direction and protection. What a wonderful place to be! Psalm 91:1  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:8-9  Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.  Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your habitation,  Psalms 91:10-11 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;  For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

Choosing the path God has prepared for each of us is the only way to bring God’s plans into fruition. Those plans become a part of our daily life through His spirit and our obedience to God’s leadings. Psalms 84:10-11  For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.  For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.

There is a way of life that seems right to man because most of the world is walking on that path. The truth is: Proverbs 14:12  There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. The road much traveled yields only temporary satisfaction and ends in total separation from God in a lake of fire. There are only two paths!  We are either walking with God toward our heavenly home with the Lord, or we are walking away from God to eternal destruction. Proverbs 15:24  The way of life winds upward for the wise,  that he may turn away from hell below.

The path we choose determines our ultimate destination and the works that we do determine our eternal rewards or punishment. We are here on earth to make a choice: to choose eternal life or eternal death. Isaiah 55:3  Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you —  the sure mercies of David.  Isaiah 55:7-8  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.  “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

Proverbs 4:18-19  But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.

MY PRAYER:  Dear Lord, turn my feet always to the path of righteousness and teach me your ways and thoughts.  I desire to walk with you and know the things you have prepared for me.  I choose your ways above my own.  Yours is the glory and power forever.  Amen.
