December 1, 2006 – WE REQUIRE INTIMACY WITH GOD!
Intimacy defined: a close personal relationship with almighty God in the beauty of holiness, giving the reverence and awe due His name and His omnipotence.
The only true safety in this world from God’s coming judgment and the destructions of satan is Christ Jesus. Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” The scriptures clearly state and experience clearly teaches, “there is no other name that can save us!” I know Him in whom I have believed personally. 2Timothy 1:12 ……. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
The answer to our personal problems and the world’s problems is intimacy with God through the spirit of his presence in our life. Christ must be in all we think and do. Christ must become our way of life, our truth, and the very essence of our being. We must dwell in His presence by seeking Him and asking Him to live His life through us. God inhabits the praises and thanksgiving of His children. Psalms 91:9 if you make the most high your dwelling – even the Lord, who is my refuge – 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
We desperately need God’s wisdom and understanding of His word for the times and events that surround us. God has called His children for such a time as this to be a light and ambassador for Him. James 1:5 if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. We need His advice and intervention in the schemes of our enemies. This is not too much to ask because the Lord says He will freely give us everything that pertains to life and Godliness. We cannot find our wisdom in the knowledge of the wise of this world because it is foolishness to God. 1Corinthians 3:19 for the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “he catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “the Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
The only way to beat satan is to “resist him” through the power of Christ’s spirit within us. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The Lord said in His prophecy to me earlier this week that we cannot “sit out” this war against evil without losing the war and our rewards. We are God’s front line soldiers in this battle. Every warrior must have “fire-power” that annihilates and destroys the enemy. That power comes from God’s Spirit. The closer we walk with God and His Spirit, the stronger the power within. Ephesians 3:20 now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. There are different measures of power according to our closeness to the source of all power. Colossians 1:29 to this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
I wish that every child of God knew God as their dearest friend and constant companion. You can have that kind of relationship with Him. I am sure that there are those that never realized that redemption, grace, faith, and righteousness are all based upon a continual, personal relationship with Christ. We must not only know Him by name, but we must live in close relationship (at all times) with Him. The apostle John is known as the “beloved” disciple. Christ and John have an eternal relationship. John received from God the revelation of Jesus Christ. The things he saw in the spirit were far beyond his grasp and the things he heard were beyond his comprehension. John knew Christ intimately and he knew Christ was the son of God and that his words are the spirit of prophesy. Revelation 19:10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” When you do not understand the written word, you can freely ask the spirit of Christ within you to send the holy spirit to reveal the truth being taught. He always answers. It may not always be the answer we want, but it is always the answer that works together for our good. What we need from God is far better than what we want!
~The deity of Jesus Christ John 1:1 in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. 2 he was with God in the beginning. 3 through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 in him was life, and that life was the light of men. I know from personal experience (as most of you do) that you can know His love and experience His presence. You see His glory manifested in His wonderful gifts and blessings. You witness His power through His divine intervention. Time and time again I have recognized His gifts to me because of their supernatural circumstances and special revelation. If living for Christ is not the life you live daily, then you have robbed yourself of the greatest gift of God.
There is no other glory like the glory of God. It cannot be mistaken by the child of God because it is a reflection of God’s omnipotence and sinless nature. The greatest treasures in our lives are our experiences with God and His presence in us. Theories are disproved, but Godly experiences are eternal and always reflect the glory, goodness, and the favor of God. When we remember those times with God our hearts are warmed and we are immediately in the presence of God through our spirit that is raised in glorious remembrance of his love and goodness. 2Corinthians 3:18 and we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit.
Only God’s love is perfect, unconditional, and everlasting! He paid the supreme sacrifice that we could have the presence of God and eternal intimacy with Him. James 4:8 come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:9 grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
