THE GREATEST WONDER OF THEM ALL!
Wherever we look, up, down, right or left, we can see the glories of God’s creation all around us. I have discovered a far greater gift and blessing of God than all of the beauty God has created around us. The greatest wonder and glory is “Christ in us, the hope of glory!”
The world has never before seen so great a love! You, oh Lord, have saved us from the judgment and separation that our sins and corrupted nature deserve. Despite our sins, Your perfect love gave us the way to escape our penalty through living life through Your Son. Who can imagine deity dying for sinful man and then indwelling him when he accepts the gift of new life in Christ Jesus? “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” (John 15:13).
Only Your great love and wisdom could produce a plan that would redeem and restore man and make him worthy to fellowship eternally with You. Christ is God, and He is the sum total of all divine power. In Him dwells all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Christ alone can make us holy as God is holy; all the fullness of the Godhead bodily resides in Him. Imagine having the wondrous gift of the Father’s great love in the person of His only begotten Son indwelling us forever. “Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:12-13).
Christ is the head of all principalities and powers. He triumphed over them openly and He took from satan the keys of death and hell. The greatest wonder of all God’s wonders is Christ indwelling us and making it possible for us to rise from the pit to the glories of dwelling with God. “Christ in you (US), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
Think of the fullness of God dwelling within us: perfect deity, perfect love, and the fullness of all wisdom and perfection are ours for the “asking.” We have access to our creator, and who knows better than the Spirit of God, the intricacies of living a life pleasing to the Father and the Son? “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26). “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him” (1 John 2:27).
Through Christ we can each live a life that will overcome all of the evil surrounding us. It is the creative power and perfect wisdom of God in Christ Jesus that can re-create us in His image and give us eternal life. Christ alone can give us a life pleasing and acceptable to God.
“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:14-17).
Imagine God dwelling in us; walking, talking, and directing us in our lives for His glory and for our salvation. God teaches us and gives us everything that pertains to life and Godliness. Oh, the wonder and glory of it all! When we consider all that Christ did for us, we have to consider that we were born (since the fall) to be eternally separated from God, but Christ died for us that we might live with God and inherit His glorious kingdom for all eternity.
Christ did the impossible and the unthinkable for man when He died for us that we might live through Him and die no more. If we live and have our being in Christ, we possess everything necessary to glorify Him on earth and for all eternity. The only thing standing in the way is our choices and we bear the responsibility for those choices. “For it is written: ‘As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’ So then each of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:11-12).
If you have lived for Christ only a short time, you, perhaps, have not yet experienced the vast powers of God working on your behalf, but you can. If you belong to the family of God through total surrender to the life of Christ within you, “all things are possible.” We cannot begin to dream or imagine the life Christ has ordained for each of us. I am eighty-two years old and can hardly believe the exciting privileges and blessings I have had in seeing God do the impossible time after time in my life. Our lives are only a “down payment” on the glory to be experienced in heaven. While on earth, we are proving the ground of our faith, trust, and obedience to God. If we refuse to let His Spirit rule in us now, we will not allow Him to rule in us for eternity.
We are in this life to choose between the knowledge of “good and evil” as a way of life. Our birthright to perfection was lost in the garden through the subtlety of satan and our forefather’s disregard for obedience to God’s words. Each one of us can lose that fellowship with God through disobedience and ignoring His commandments. Now we face daily “the choices of good or evil,” and whether to serve God or satan. Our earthly experience gives us the opportunity to choose between the God of all goodness, and satan the God of murder, deceit, and every corrupting thought, desire and action. I choose Jesus, the God of all goodness, to indwell me and bring me into the perfection Christ purchased for all of us. I choose Christ, who will give me eternal life instead of eternal death! I choose the deity of God over self-rule or man-made gods. Who do you choose to rule over your life?
We are entering a new day and hour that is bringing a powerful visitation of God. Recently, God spoke to me about the children of God being casual about the very important things of God. Instead of waiting for God to give me something to do, I have been praying for God to use me every day in His kingdom. I can tell you from experience, Christ is daily giving me work to do that I normally might pass by and not notice. The Spirit is awakening us to a new reality – calling us to action. If we are too busy doing our own thing, we might miss the call of the Holy Spirit.
Dearest Lord and Savior, I know that You are the greatest gift and blessing that man can receive. I ask You to quicken my spirit to hunger and thirst after all You are so I can become like You. Most of all, I want to allow You to take my life and mold it according to Your plans and likeness. Give me Your wisdom and understanding. Do not allow me to walk in semi-darkness blinded by my own desires and plans, but open my eyes to behold Your roadmap for my life. Help me to obtain the blessings You have prepared for me. Increase my appetite for Your Word and put a longing within me to dwell in Your presence and walk according to Your leadings. Save me from myself, and help me to live in Your spirit instead of through my flesh. Dearest Lord, make me a blessing to others and help me to surrender all of myself to You for Your glory! Amen.
