GOD’S LESSONS FROM LIFE!

Our God is all powerful and there isn’t anything He can’t do! He has some laws and rules of conduct that He will not break, but when everything is aligned according to His will, naturally impossible things can happen!”  We can’t figure it all out because His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. ISA 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

I know from experience that His love for all mankind stretches our understanding of the laws of probability. Romans 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He heard my child-like cries for help and the only name I knew was “God.” I knew and saw only the things He had created.

My answer to those who inquire after the welfare of those who have never heard of God, is if they seek Him with their whole heart they will find Him. Jer 29:13 and you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. He is not very far from any of us! I know that those in the darkest reaches of the earth can find Him if they seek for Him. I know this, because I found Him when the only clue I had was the beauty of nature that I could see with my eyes, and the fact that my grandmother told me that I had a heavenly Father who loved me and I could take all of my problems to Him. I had never heard of Jesus Christ, and my family never went to church. Yet I felt His love and care for a nine year-old girl who desperately needed rescuing.

As I faithfully said my prayers each night (“Now I lay me down to sleep, etc.” which my grandmother had taught me), I was given a sense of being loved and cared for by God. I was captive to the whims and decrees of a mother taken captive by alcohol. I cried for help continuously from the God who created so much beauty in nature, while in my home I could see dead ends and a waste and destruction of life. Fortunately I had been deeply loved by my grandparents, so I had known real love. My mother took me from my grandparents when she remarried and moved far from them (I was three or four years old). As I grew old enough to understand that I was captive to a life I hated, my prayers to the Lord for help greatly increased. I LEARNED EARLY THAT GOD WAS MY ONLY HOPE FOR AN ABUNDANT LIFE.

One night when I was all alone and afraid of the storm outside, a strong voice said within me, “Go and kneel before Me in prayer and ask Me to deliver you from the care of your mother.  You will never stand a chance in life with her.”  I knew immediately that I didn’t speak the words, but I knew they were “absolute truth.” I did exactly what my heavenly Father said! I felt peace and I waited to see what the God my grandmother told me about as a little child was going to do in my life.  I knew “help” was on the way and he never disappointed me. In fact, He did miracles. EPH 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

I don’t recall the exact timeline, but it seemed to happen quickly. My mother divorced my stepfather and moved back to where her family lived.  However, God did not plan to place me with my relatives because He had a much better plan. At that time there were no Christians in my family (except my grandmother) and she was in ill health. My mother became very ill and needed surgery so she temporarily placed me in the home of a family who agreed to take care of me through her surgery and recuperation.

The minute I walked into the home of these total strangers God again spoke to me and He said, “THIS MAN WILL BE YOUR FATHER AND YOU WILL BE PERMANENTLY PLACED IN THIS FAMILY.”  In a few weeks my mother wanted to place me in another home to work for my room and board, but every time she tried to move me, God intervened and I lived with this family until I married at twenty-one.

The fact that total strangers would take me in and want to raise me as their own child is a miracle (especially since they had three teenagers of their own). I found Jesus Christ through this family and received the greatest miracle of love that God has to give.  COL 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Through Christ I am a member of God’s family and enjoy an inheritance the world cannot give.  I have abundant life, and through Him I can attain to God’s highest calling for me.

All of God’s love and goodness has culminated in a wonderful life of fellowship with Him. I have experienced God on many levels of need, and He never has failed. I was sixteen when I dedicated my life to Christ and I have been overjoyed with all the love and blessings I have received from Christ and my heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit has produced a work in me that no one else could accomplish. I have had a wonderful life because of God.  He has intervened every time satan has tried to destroy me or my life. I have hope eternal because of all God has done.

Satan cannot rob me of my experiences for I “know Him in whom I have believed and I know that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him.” He reached down to me before I even knew Him or His Son and He set my feet on a course to truly know Him and find eternal life. Truly, I have been a tree planted by the rivers of water. PSA 1:3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Don’t ever feel unloved! Jesus loves you and He will respond to your call.  Obey Him and He will give you a blessed life. There is nothing impossible with God! He can turn the evil into good! If you are seeking the answers for your life, Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

Let us pray together: Dearest Lord, I am seeking the way for my life and Your perfect will.  I know it is Your will to give me all that pertains to life and Godliness.  Forgive me my trespasses as I forgive others. I want to truly know You and walk pleasing to You.  May I bring honor and glory to Your name!  Show me where I am weak and give me strength of conviction.  Give me Your wisdom. May I learn to know Your ways and Your thoughts. I surrender my life to You. Make me over into the person You want me to be. Thank You for Your love and blessings. I praise Your Holy Name!  Amen.
